Since the beginning of January, 2015, we have noticed an increase in the amount of digital authentication letters issued by the FBI and the FBI Channelers. These digital letters, which are signed by Kimberly J. Del Greco or William G. McKinsey, will be e-mailed to you. If you prefer, you can request a hard copy to be sent to your location. An FBI Channeler is unable to mail these letters to our office.
If you have not already submitted your fingerprints directly to the FBI, we recommend that you contact an FBI Channeler to help expedite the background check process. Submitting your fingerprints directly to the FBI can take months to process. With an FBI Channeler, the average processing time is 4-5 days.

On September 7, 2014, CJIS installed a new IT system. As a result of this installation, we are experiencing delays in processing. Please be assured that each issue is being identified and resolved as quickly as possible, but at this time anticipated processing time for an Identity History Summary is approximately 14-16 weeks. Allow additional time for mail delivery.
We recommend that you contact an FBI Channeler in order to avoid any delays in processing your fingerprints.
