If you are planning to retire in Ecuador, you will be asked to obtain an Apostille on an FBI background check. We recommend that you contact an FBI channeler to help expedite the background check process.
Obtaining an FBI background check is one of several documents that will be requested by the country of Ecuador. You will also be asked to obtain an Apostille on your birth certificate and your most recent Social Security Administration income and benefits statement. The same documents will also be requested from your spouse. If you are currently in Ecuador, please call us or contact us through our website for specific instructions.

The very first step is to contact an FBI Approved Channeler. We recommend contacting a channeler because they can assist in expediting the FBI background check process. You can either request a hard copy of your results by mail (hard copy) or request the results by email. If you are outside of the United States, we recommend that you request your results by email. The FBI Channeler cannot mail the background check results to our office. You can, however, have the results sent to a family member or friend. Once you receive your background check results (email or hard copy), you can then forward this document to our Washington, D.C. office for processing.
The second step is to mail or email your FBI background check results to us. You will need to include our FBI Apostille order form and credit card authorization form. If a family or friend will be sending in your documents, be sure to scan and email to us our order form and credit card authorization form. We will need these forms in order to process your documents. That’s it! It’s that simple!
